The Problem

Looking to increase your store's sales and traffic without just relying on expensive ads?

That's the exact issue this store owner in the health industry had.

They weren't ranking high enough for their main keywords and they didn't generate as many sales/traffic as they'd like.

Our goals with this SEO campaign were to:

1. Rank them high for their main keywords and make them the authority in their niche

2. Increase their organic traffic and sales

The problem?

They were in a pretty tough health sub-niche, didn't have a keyword/content strategy and they weren't driving backlinks to the website consistently.

Let's breakdown the strategy we used to get results for this store.

The Solution

Step 1 - Technical Analysis

The first thing we always do is an overall technical analysis of the website.

Most websites don't have critical technical issues but we prefer being 100% sure and perform a technical audit before starting the SEO campaign.

This analysis scouts for broken pages, issues with the site map, orphan pages, etc.

We performed the test with the best SEO tool for this task, Screaming Frog.

Step 2 - SEO Competitors and Keyword Research

Next, we figured out who their SEO competitors are.

Keep in mind that competitors and SEO competitors are often two separate entities and it's key to understand who the latter are by using specialized tools. In our case, Semrush.

Once we identified their top 5 competitors, we did a deep analysis on their organic keywords to figure out the best keywords for our client to rank. After all, if your competitors are trying to rank for specific keywords, it means there's value in them.

Now that we had the list of keywords, we decided to focus on:

1. Commercial Keywords: These are the keywords that will increase your sales
2. Informational Keywords: These are the ''blog post'' keywords to increase traffic
3. Main Keyword: This is the big keyword they wanted to rank for
4. Low Difficulty Keywords: These are easy-to-rank keywords to crank up the organic traffic from the get-go

Step 3 - Content Strategy and Creation

We have the keywords and the overall strategy, now it was time to sort out the keywords in topic clusters and category pages that makes sense for the brand and to make it easier for the visitors to navigate through the website.

We created the content and product description in a way that feels personal and but highly authoritative.

Additionally, we also optimized for on-page SEO's best practices including keyword density, keyword positioning, and interlinking.

Step 4 - Backlink Strategy

Backlinks are one of the most important factors to rank.

But, they have to be high-quality.

We made sure to generate at least 3-5 backlinks monthly targeting the most important pages of the client's website. All these links were topically related to the niche and highly authoritative in the health industry

Step 5 - Data Analysis and Reports

We like to keep our clients aware about every step of the process and we do this by providing a monthly, easy-to-read report.

This way we can show the client where we're currently standing and how do we want to move the strategy forward for the next months.

The Results

So, what kind of results did we get for this client?

In the 6 months we worked together, we manage to achieve:

• Increased organic sales by 262%
• Increased organic traffic by 227%
• More than doubled their monthly impressions from 31,600 to 69,900
• Ranked for multiple main keywords to #1

As we're still building content and links, this client is, to this day, seeing consistent growth every month we've been working together.
